Examples of
projects likely to be funded include, but are not limited to, the following:
Purchase
of Mineral/Rock samples or collections
Purchase
of software for Earth science subjects
Materials
and expenses for classroom experiments
Computer
or GPS hardware purchases
Limited on-line service fees to provide
geological research access to Internet resources
The Minigrant Program expects teachers and students to
use the available funds for their maximum benefit. As closure for each project, a written report
of no more than four (4) typed pages or video no longer than fifteen
(15) minutes will be submitted to the Georgia Mineral Society Education
Committee at the address below. It is
suggested that the report could also be student-compiled, teacher-graded, and
submitted in a portfolio format. A one
(1) page written summary must accompany any multimedia presentations. A presentation to a general meeting of the Georgia
Mineral Society may be requested for any project.
This program is open to all elementary,
middle and high school earth science/systems classes and teachers within
